LHH June onwards

so corona virus has rendered work quiet for me, I did a extra long walk today for cockapoo sisters Bobbie and Bridie, Norfolk terrier Ozzie and cocker spaniel Monty, it was Montys first day back since lockdown so he was last walked in March ! I mean it could be a lot worse, work is ticking along albeit quietly, tomorrow is the busiest day so for now its feet up and writing posts on my blog especially as its raining !

So I initially took four weeks off and reopened putting in strict social distancing measures with my clients, cleaning the van down regularly changing towels and harnesses as much as possible, it doesn’t look like things are going to get better any time soon, apparently death rates of corona are falling, looks like social distancing is here to stay and schools are now staying shut till September so I cant really hang about waiting for normality to come back as its way off, so with little happy hounds being such a small business I will continue to carry on, its business as usual with all our new things in place, so we are in the position to take on new clients, you could find me via our main website http://www.littlehappyhounds.co.uk or on facebook business page, best way to get old of. me is via email info@littlehappyhounds.co.uk or call 07732265149.

All the photos on this post are from walks done at the end of May early June, we had a week of really hot weather so I was doing water walks for the dogs in the woods lots of shade, with corona all my cat sitting bookings are cancelled, we will have to see what the future brings regarding that, I am still providing dog walks, I did have a cockapoo puppy I was visiting, when he eventually comes back he will be a fully fledged dog !!

Little Happy hounds, run by just me Aaron, I began the business when we lived in New Mills, we moved to Whaley Bridge, spent half a decade there and then last summer 2019 we opted for a new start quieter life in the near by village of Chinley, its all my dreams come true firstly living in a village not a town and our new house is a very old house and it. happens to in the Peak District National Park Boundary !I still very much cover Whaley Bridge and have lots of clients there we do lots of lovely walks near by!

I am very lucky and fortunate enough to have lots of lovely long term clients, in Chinley, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Furness Vale, Buxworth, and Whaley Bridge, High Peak. I am DBS checked, a trusted key holder, fully insured, I drive a van with no company details at all offering a more discrete service for when your pet is home alone !

Can not believe its only Tuesday

I feel like I have done an entire week of Little Happy Hounds I am a very tired dog walker indeed;  which is annoying as its only Tuesday I am feeling more tired than usual sleeping very deeply struggling too get up nice and early !! This is not a complaint but a observation. Winter lack of sunshine and long dog walks always makes me very tired…

So Monday yesterday we did three one hour walks and today just two one hour dog walks. we have a extra dog this week, a black Schnauzer called Teddy, who I walked once before a few months back he belongs to some family members of my client Monty a lovely cocker spaniel I walk regularly. Teddy is a one off and staying on a long training lead as he can be a bit precious and I am worried he will run away ! As a one off dog walk I don’t mind walking a dog on a lead, as all my little happy hounds regulars are able to be off leads.

Betty in my van today enjoying the new heated seat !

So yesterday the dog friendly walks were, Taxal, Eccles Pike, and my third walk, which was just my dog Scrappy and sisters German shepherd Amy and her rescue dog sister Ruby was along the Peak Forest Canal, I start near Bridgemont walk towards Bugsworth Basin and do a loop around the basin its the flattest walk I do just because I have lost Toddbrook reservoir now and their are not many good walks too do near the Whaley Lane end of town, the girls love that canal walk so all is good !

Today I had two walks my first was Fernilee Reservoir my second was a repeat of a walk I do at Taxal, its rained a bit mostly drizzling which is fine as its been a lot milder this week, the pictures are just a few from the last few days find us on Facebook too follow our adventures in full.

Yesterday I got some cat sitting bookings from the regulars, Queenie booked in for three days in December, more of my regular cat clients in Buxworth added another date too December they already have a week of cat visits booked in,  and this weekend I am now popping in too cat feed Bertie Friday eve, and twice on Saturday!

For dog walking and cat sitting, I am based in Chinley and cover the surrounding areas of Buxworth, Furness Vale, Whaley Bridge and Chapel-en-le-Frith High Peak, Derbyshire.  Pet care services,  include pet sitting, cat sitting, dog walking and puppy visits. As of  2018 we ceased operating in New Mills, Hayfield and Birch Vale, as we centralised the business.

November 19

So with the run up to Christmas we are busy at Little Happy Hounds, this post is about the business what we do and the walks we have been on in November 2019.If your interested in any of our pet care services please feel free too ring me 07732265149 or email info@littlehappyhounds.co.uk with your enquiry, we also have a main website with lots of information, services, testimonials , and gallery http://www.littlehappyhounds.co.uk

So this last few weeks I have been avoiding walking the dogs up on Eccles Pike for various reasons,  the main one being it was October half term so not comfortable taking groups of dogs up there when everyones off work schools are closed.

so I have been traveling further out too make sure my dogs have a great walk, various terrains, quiet places so they can enjoy a proper walk off leads. As a dog walker we walk in small well managed groups, all my clients have good recall so are off leads, the places I have been going are the Goyt Valley and Taxal.  Last year I centralised the business a bit and we stopped covering New Mills, I had a few dogs in New Mills but the majority were in Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Chinley, I basically did this too cut back on car time, it was literally raking too long to pick dogs up, A555 has done many wonderful things including making the A6 much busier.

So I tend too do three one hour groups a day, the first two my morning and lunch time group tend to be busier and my third walk is always nice and quieter less dogs on that walk , so older dogs, ad hoc dogs can go on that walk, just depends what time of day people are looking for, with travel and the dog walks I work 9:30 too about 4 most days sometimes later with the cat visits.

So now I have dog walking  and cat sitting clients in Chinley, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge and Buxworth which are very much areas we cover. Little Happy Hounds is fully insured, trusted key holder.  Puppy visits, dog nature walks, and pet sitting.

When I started the business back in 2012, there was not many people dog walking, the few I knew of were word of mouth ‘mature ladies’ shall we say, few were doing it the way I was website, using social media, how things have changed seven years down the line, in the face of all the new competition, we are still here as a small local business, still thriving and still focusing on our ethos, which is to provide dogs with excellent countryside walks and too offer the most caring personalised service we can, here is too the next seven years as I feel with my new van and my new clients our recent move that I am just getting started.

Winter has landed in the High Peak I have some niggling cold which is not. helping but everywhere is feeling cold, wintry, dare I say it very muddy. The next few months are going to be busy with the dogs I walk and the cat sitting bookings, over the Christmas period I take a bit of time off and return second week of January fully charged raring too go. The photos in this blog are all recent from last weeks dog walks and cat visits. find us on Facebook too follow our adventures in full.

Little Happy Hounds 2019…

So we went back to work last week after two weeks off for Christmas and new year so this post on the blog is about last weeks walks, our dogs, and what we got up to in general.

I started my first walk back on Monday with a fabulous Goyt Valley walk, I then went onto to do Lantern Pike with a second walk on our third walk I walked from the clients house over Whaley Lane into cow field and to Toddbrook and back, it was only two clients so I was able to do that. Two things happened on Mondays walks, it rained a lot all day and we did not see another human being, just me and my dogs, it was bliss. Once I dried off.

The rest of the week I have done walks in Taxal, Hayfield, with dog walking clients in Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Chinley, and Birch Vale.  Pictures are just some from this weeks dog walks, as I do three walks a day sometimes there a lot of dogs and a lot of pics so can only post a few on each post for the dog blog… find us on Facebook to follow our adventures properly.  As a nature enthusiast I love the great outdoors, we live in the Peak District so I am all about exploring on my dog walks, off lead when its safe to do so, I try and aim for varied terrain, hilly, moorland, wooded areas to make it more interesting for the dogs, the more scenic the better I think, more exploring for them, more smells to sniff, to Walk, Run, Jump.

Hello March

So a new month and March has not gotten off to a good start at 9:00 am on a Thursday morning for the first time ever I have completely closed Little Happy Hounds due to the sever weather conditions, yesterday we pretty much also closed did a few toilet visits today 90% of my clients cancelled.

We have sever snow from Siberia, really cold temperatures, today thick snow on the roads, I was so upset yesterday as I have not seen one of my clients since last week, and having to cancel on others, since everyone cancelled on me today I don’t feel so bad, I thought its a good day to blog about what awesome month February was as we go from strength to strength as a small local business in the High Peak.

So were to begin so many new and so many cute clients, for 2018 in general, we had gaps as Mario took sometime off last year, a full time client of ours, Chico also took sometime off and has now left he was also full time, and Holly left us a dog we saw three times a week, usually that is fine as I get lot of new clients, its worth noting Mario Chico and Hollie left for their own reasons, nothing we did as a business I stayed in touch with Mario as they communicated with me their plans, so the door was left open for him and he has returned, I stayed in touch with Hollies owners I always hoped she would comeback to us, sadly few weeks ago she passed away, RIP Hollie doggy ! I think Chico left as she was maternity leave.

but last year enquiries dried up, the dogs I did take on, two in particular messed me around , and in the end work wise I did not enjoy 2017. So over the Christmas break I took the decision to turn things around, work wise, in mind wise, and I think last year was important and because, it reminded me who we were as a business what we offer as a business, and now I feel we doing very well.

So this year Pippa joined our walks, lovely westie puppy, I walk her brother a schnauzer, so I was seeing Pippa daily in last few weeks of 2017, once we got into the new year she eventually joined our walks in late January, have to say she has been amazing for a young dog and as I predicted in her ballsy westitude personality has fitted in perfectly with the other dogs , we all adore her.

Then just after January in a matter of days we took a seven year old cocker spaniel Monty ad hoc arrangement, and at the same time the most cutest 4 month puppy ever Ozzie, his owners said there were happy for him to walk up to a mile at his age and my lunch time was just over that, anyway he came on walks, for four weeks now not had any problems with him at all, I work on recall but as he’s has gone to puppy training and it shows, he is a brilliant little dog. Everytime I walk him I feel fortunate and blessed. Monty is beautiful lad and they have now changed his arrangement from ad hoc to one regular walk a week term time. As a dog walker both these lads are a dream come true as they are so well behaved on walks, so socialised, a pleasure to walk.

Then in the same week as I said yes to  anew  9 week old puppy called Ralph, Mario came back full time. Ralph is this tiny sweet Lhasa apso puppy, I knew when I met him he was going to be very special to me as a client, as he reminds me so much of my own dog at that age, he was booked in for four puppy visits this week, due to the weather I have done just two ! His owners are great they have already taught him to sit on command, so I am just doing a mix up of feeding him, cleaning up after him, toilet training, and recall at the moment, once a few weeks have passed I will start lead training in their garden, I aiming for the four month mark for him to come on walks, but I am happy to wait longer if the owners feel he needs more time, once vaccinated I will do his puppy visit 15 minute walks and build it up from that.

More new clients ! in the shape of the Little Happy Cats, Lizzie and Mow Mow, and Walter. Lizzie and Mow Mow are new cat sitting clients I looked after for a weekend a few weeks back Mow Mow is 20 years old geriatric for cat, he looks really good for his age, I have seen a lot of elderly cats ! Lizzie is only two a black cat they rescued, both very sweet enjoyed looking after them it was doddle as the set up was so organised.  We also met new cat Walter,  I know his brothers clients of mine, Whirley and Hector but they got a new cat and he is adorable pic below very playful, So February was also a success for pets sitting, I personally cared for Eustace, Lizzie and Mow Mow, Cat, Minuit, Baz Agatha and Lennie, Minuit, Cat, Roary, Walter Whirley and Hector, and Ole and Tintin! My cat sitting adventures took me to Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Buxworth, Funress Vale, Hague Bar, Birch Vale and New Mills, all areas we cover for Little Happy Cats cat sitting services.

February we also did lots of amazing dog walks, for our clients, our dog friendly places were Eccles Pike Chapel-en-le-Frith, Lantern Pike, Hayfield, Taxal, Toddbrook Whaley Bridge,
