LHH June onwards

so corona virus has rendered work quiet for me, I did a extra long walk today for cockapoo sisters Bobbie and Bridie, Norfolk terrier Ozzie and cocker spaniel Monty, it was Montys first day back since lockdown so he was last walked in March ! I mean it could be a lot worse, work is ticking along albeit quietly, tomorrow is the busiest day so for now its feet up and writing posts on my blog especially as its raining !

So I initially took four weeks off and reopened putting in strict social distancing measures with my clients, cleaning the van down regularly changing towels and harnesses as much as possible, it doesn’t look like things are going to get better any time soon, apparently death rates of corona are falling, looks like social distancing is here to stay and schools are now staying shut till September so I cant really hang about waiting for normality to come back as its way off, so with little happy hounds being such a small business I will continue to carry on, its business as usual with all our new things in place, so we are in the position to take on new clients, you could find me via our main website http://www.littlehappyhounds.co.uk or on facebook business page, best way to get old of. me is via email info@littlehappyhounds.co.uk or call 07732265149.

All the photos on this post are from walks done at the end of May early June, we had a week of really hot weather so I was doing water walks for the dogs in the woods lots of shade, with corona all my cat sitting bookings are cancelled, we will have to see what the future brings regarding that, I am still providing dog walks, I did have a cockapoo puppy I was visiting, when he eventually comes back he will be a fully fledged dog !!

Little Happy hounds, run by just me Aaron, I began the business when we lived in New Mills, we moved to Whaley Bridge, spent half a decade there and then last summer 2019 we opted for a new start quieter life in the near by village of Chinley, its all my dreams come true firstly living in a village not a town and our new house is a very old house and it. happens to in the Peak District National Park Boundary !I still very much cover Whaley Bridge and have lots of clients there we do lots of lovely walks near by!

I am very lucky and fortunate enough to have lots of lovely long term clients, in Chinley, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Furness Vale, Buxworth, and Whaley Bridge, High Peak. I am DBS checked, a trusted key holder, fully insured, I drive a van with no company details at all offering a more discrete service for when your pet is home alone !

Can not believe its only Tuesday

I feel like I have done an entire week of Little Happy Hounds I am a very tired dog walker indeed;  which is annoying as its only Tuesday I am feeling more tired than usual sleeping very deeply struggling too get up nice and early !! This is not a complaint but a observation. Winter lack of sunshine and long dog walks always makes me very tired…

So Monday yesterday we did three one hour walks and today just two one hour dog walks. we have a extra dog this week, a black Schnauzer called Teddy, who I walked once before a few months back he belongs to some family members of my client Monty a lovely cocker spaniel I walk regularly. Teddy is a one off and staying on a long training lead as he can be a bit precious and I am worried he will run away ! As a one off dog walk I don’t mind walking a dog on a lead, as all my little happy hounds regulars are able to be off leads.

Betty in my van today enjoying the new heated seat !

So yesterday the dog friendly walks were, Taxal, Eccles Pike, and my third walk, which was just my dog Scrappy and sisters German shepherd Amy and her rescue dog sister Ruby was along the Peak Forest Canal, I start near Bridgemont walk towards Bugsworth Basin and do a loop around the basin its the flattest walk I do just because I have lost Toddbrook reservoir now and their are not many good walks too do near the Whaley Lane end of town, the girls love that canal walk so all is good !

Today I had two walks my first was Fernilee Reservoir my second was a repeat of a walk I do at Taxal, its rained a bit mostly drizzling which is fine as its been a lot milder this week, the pictures are just a few from the last few days find us on Facebook too follow our adventures in full.

Yesterday I got some cat sitting bookings from the regulars, Queenie booked in for three days in December, more of my regular cat clients in Buxworth added another date too December they already have a week of cat visits booked in,  and this weekend I am now popping in too cat feed Bertie Friday eve, and twice on Saturday!

For dog walking and cat sitting, I am based in Chinley and cover the surrounding areas of Buxworth, Furness Vale, Whaley Bridge and Chapel-en-le-Frith High Peak, Derbyshire.  Pet care services,  include pet sitting, cat sitting, dog walking and puppy visits. As of  2018 we ceased operating in New Mills, Hayfield and Birch Vale, as we centralised the business.

November 19

So with the run up to Christmas we are busy at Little Happy Hounds, this post is about the business what we do and the walks we have been on in November 2019.If your interested in any of our pet care services please feel free too ring me 07732265149 or email info@littlehappyhounds.co.uk with your enquiry, we also have a main website with lots of information, services, testimonials , and gallery http://www.littlehappyhounds.co.uk

So this last few weeks I have been avoiding walking the dogs up on Eccles Pike for various reasons,  the main one being it was October half term so not comfortable taking groups of dogs up there when everyones off work schools are closed.

so I have been traveling further out too make sure my dogs have a great walk, various terrains, quiet places so they can enjoy a proper walk off leads. As a dog walker we walk in small well managed groups, all my clients have good recall so are off leads, the places I have been going are the Goyt Valley and Taxal.  Last year I centralised the business a bit and we stopped covering New Mills, I had a few dogs in New Mills but the majority were in Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Chinley, I basically did this too cut back on car time, it was literally raking too long to pick dogs up, A555 has done many wonderful things including making the A6 much busier.

So I tend too do three one hour groups a day, the first two my morning and lunch time group tend to be busier and my third walk is always nice and quieter less dogs on that walk , so older dogs, ad hoc dogs can go on that walk, just depends what time of day people are looking for, with travel and the dog walks I work 9:30 too about 4 most days sometimes later with the cat visits.

So now I have dog walking  and cat sitting clients in Chinley, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge and Buxworth which are very much areas we cover. Little Happy Hounds is fully insured, trusted key holder.  Puppy visits, dog nature walks, and pet sitting.

When I started the business back in 2012, there was not many people dog walking, the few I knew of were word of mouth ‘mature ladies’ shall we say, few were doing it the way I was website, using social media, how things have changed seven years down the line, in the face of all the new competition, we are still here as a small local business, still thriving and still focusing on our ethos, which is to provide dogs with excellent countryside walks and too offer the most caring personalised service we can, here is too the next seven years as I feel with my new van and my new clients our recent move that I am just getting started.

Winter has landed in the High Peak I have some niggling cold which is not. helping but everywhere is feeling cold, wintry, dare I say it very muddy. The next few months are going to be busy with the dogs I walk and the cat sitting bookings, over the Christmas period I take a bit of time off and return second week of January fully charged raring too go. The photos in this blog are all recent from last weeks dog walks and cat visits. find us on Facebook too follow our adventures in full.

Aaron

October 2019 gone so fast

So they do say time flies when your having fun, fun I have had with the doggies and the kitty cats and boom its November already.

So this last week has been great as a dog walker in the High Peak,  its been October half term so a few less dog walking clients and a few extra cat sitting clients is how this usual works at Little Happy Hounds, its been cold all week but very sunny and very dry so we have had some awesome dog walks. I have been avoiding busy areas like Eccles Pike and Goyt Valley as its half term and everyone is off work off school out walking.  So the photos below are just some from this weeks dog walks and cat visit too follow my adventures in full find our little happy hounds Facebook page.  Dog walking, cat sitting, pet care services based in Chinley in the Peak District Derbyshire, I cover Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Buxworth and other areas in the High Peak.

Little Happy Hounds we began life back in 2012 when we were based in New Mills, and had clients in Marple, New Mills,  Hayfield, Birch Vale, Chapel, Chinley and Whaley. We then moved too whaley bridge and centralised and stopped covering New Mills and Marple, we have recently moved too Chinley, we offer cat feeding, puppy visits and dog walking, I am highly experienced, very caring, very reliable we are a established local pet care services.

Busy week just three days in

What a week, extra work on, toilet visits and extra walks for some of my dog walking clients and this weekend I am cat sitting Tin tin and Ole in Chapel-en-le-Frith,

Today we did three one hour walks, with all temporary lights and road closures it took forever getting around I effectively drove my new work van from 9:30 to 4:30 just breaking too do the actual walks ! It was intense I am hoping praying Sheffield road is about too reopen and my life will be a lot easier, they have closed Sheffield road down and made hayfield road one way in Chapel, then they went onto close Green lane and Charley Lane in Chinley then they put a four way temporary light at the round about before Dove Holes, so ineffective the quickest way to Morrisons for example from sovereign way chapel is via Whaley Bridge, which is ridiculous.

The dogs bless them have been great considering the extra travel time and new wheels. Feeling lucky feeling blessed. Seven years in I feel like we are starting fresh all over again with Little Happy Hounds, we have started to advertise again, various  things, posting on my blogs for one thing, we returned too tweeting from our tweeter feed, a client of mine put my advert up on her tree in her garden near bus stop,  I have signage on my new van for when I am parked up at home I take them off when I am driving around.

The other fresh start is new wheels, so I have said before on countless posts,   no vans, no cages, I have also said no jumping and wriggling about in my car, which sadly a few of the new dogs are doing ( despite being harnessed in)  so they will be crated, I have had some size issues today with one of two the crates I ordered so I am unsure how I am working it just yet ; I do now have one large very secure crate in the van it will take two small dogs, plus the van came with fitted dog guard. When I said no vans I was put off at the size of them, the one dog whose access was awful his tight narrow busy lane has left the building, so my confidence in driving has gone up again I am just trying too be more careful when I am parking up so I don’t scratch and scrape new van ! Its not easy several blind spots for one thing ! The worst thing I have found this week is driving around Whaley Bridge, I was almost hit by a stage coach empty bus I couldn’t pull in for parked cars person in front emergency stopped and the bus well he just pushed his way down anyway even though he then had to emergency stop as my stationary car was stuck I had no were too move…

So fresh new starts ! advertising, new van, and in general feeling very happy and enjoying walking the dogs, making sure they have the walk of their life every time ! my walks this week have been varied, been up Eccles Pike, Taxal and the Goyt Valley.

Little Happy Hounds, dog walking, puppy visits, cat feeding, based in Chinley, we began life in 2012 when I was based in New Mills, we then moved to Whaley Bridge before finally settling for village life in the rather fabulous Chinley. I am a very small, very local, caring, experienced, reliable pet care business.  Fully insured, CRB checked, trusted key holder.

53298616_2569943149743999_620511706417725440_n

February was busier as had quite a few cat sitting durations booked in over the half term especially, March has gone quiet as a few dogs have took holidays and another few cancelled for various reasons this week.

53913754_2518102988224401_2833633282313158656_n

So I have managed to catch up doing all the other things like paper work, cleaning my house, shopping, next week is looking busy. So this week, we have enjoyed the windy delights of Storm Gareth, I have done dog walks at Fernilee Reservoir, the woods in Hayfield, and on a clients private 7 acre piece of land. As a dog walker I go off the beaten track offering off lead walks, I walk in small groups. When I am not walking the happy hounds I am busy with the Little Happy Cats our cat feeding services, for dog walking and cat sitting I cover Whaley Bridge, were I am currently based top of Macc Road in the Linglongs estate, I also cover Chinley, Buxworth and Chapel-en-le-Frith High Peak.

Little Happy Hounds 2019…

So we went back to work last week after two weeks off for Christmas and new year so this post on the blog is about last weeks walks, our dogs, and what we got up to in general.

I started my first walk back on Monday with a fabulous Goyt Valley walk, I then went onto to do Lantern Pike with a second walk on our third walk I walked from the clients house over Whaley Lane into cow field and to Toddbrook and back, it was only two clients so I was able to do that. Two things happened on Mondays walks, it rained a lot all day and we did not see another human being, just me and my dogs, it was bliss. Once I dried off.

The rest of the week I have done walks in Taxal, Hayfield, with dog walking clients in Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Chinley, and Birch Vale.  Pictures are just some from this weeks dog walks, as I do three walks a day sometimes there a lot of dogs and a lot of pics so can only post a few on each post for the dog blog… find us on Facebook to follow our adventures properly.  As a nature enthusiast I love the great outdoors, we live in the Peak District so I am all about exploring on my dog walks, off lead when its safe to do so, I try and aim for varied terrain, hilly, moorland, wooded areas to make it more interesting for the dogs, the more scenic the better I think, more exploring for them, more smells to sniff, to Walk, Run, Jump.

Christmas count down.

Little Happy Hounds dog blog Christmas edition post.

So my presents are wrapped, I have almost sorted my going away arrangements for Christmas. Clients cards and a very small gift have arrived, just did the last cat visit for 2018, this morning, just one more week left of dog walks, and 2018 draws to a close for Little Happy Hounds.  So its starting to feel a lot like Christmas.

47571907_2363038737064161_7197027877013946368_n

So as we moved forward, our emphasis has a small local pet care business, is to provide, excellent dog nature walks and offer a very caring, personalised pet sitting services for the New Year. Into 2019 we are no longer covering the New Mills area, we offer our dog walking, cat sitting and puppy visits in Whaley Bridge, Chinley, Buxworth, Chapel-en-le-Frith, High Peak. The reason being there are so many dog walkers and dog daycare places in New Mills,  but also with the traffic increase particularly on the A6, it means its taking longer to get around and my theme for next year is less driving and more walking. So I want to cover less areas and try and centralise things a bit.

So last week we were blessed with beautiful weather, the dogs really enjoyed all their walks, as we had no rain, just sunshine, was a bit cold, we did longer walks on Friday. The pictures below were taken on Fridays first walk near the Goyt Valley, just over winter I have combined my third walk clients and first walk clients as they are very flexible but also doing three one hour walks on a Friday in winter was exhausting me. Besides the six below are brilliant, come in for treats on command when we see joggers etc and we go on a quiet walk were the majority of people I see no me no my dogs.  For me its about time spent in nature for the dogs, off leads, they are all friendly so happy to socialise with one another and other friendly dogs we meet. When time allows me we will do longer than hour,

Hayfield hounds.

So this week we have had snow, and we done quite a few dog walks in Hayfield with our lunch time clients,  we have dog walking clients we often see in New Mills, Birch Vale and Hayfield. As a dog walker, we walk in small groups, off leads and we love too go off the beaten track, at Little Happy Hounds, we love dog nature walks which is why we often go too Hayfield. My other walks in and around High Peak this week have been Eccles Pike in Chape-en-le-Frith and we did lots of Taxal walks with our Whaley Bridge dog walking clients. Pics below are just a select few from our Dog friendly Hayfield walks this week find us Facebook for a lots more pics of our doggy adventures.
